The Veneering Procedure
The success of your veneers begins with thorough planning. After examination and the elimination of any tooth or gum disease, the dentist takes photos and impressions of the teeth and prepares a mock-up of your case in wax to ensure the shape and size of the teeth are satisfactory. He or she will then prep your teeth by removing a small amount of enamel to allow the ceramic to fit properly. The dentist then takes more impressions and creates temporary veneers based on that mock-up. Your impressions, shading, mock-up and photos then go to the lab for fabrication. You will return in about two weeks, at which point the dentist will remove your temporary veneers. He or she can then place the permanents, and you will confirm that you love them before the dentist bonds them into place. It’s that simple – a fully transformed smile in just two visits!
