When restoring a tooth is no longer an option, a tooth extraction may become necessary.  Typically, teeth are extracted when the teeth or the gums are infected, broken or decayed beyond repair. Sometimes, wisdom teeth must be extracted due to lack of space that leads to impaction.  Teeth may also need to be extracted to make room for orthodontic treatment.  Dr. Coon will spend time with you to discuss the pros and cons of tooth extraction in your individual case, as well as help you make an informed decision as to whether it is right for you.
